Hello, World! I'm Mike. This substack is a place where I will be sharing the highs and lows of running my small design, engineering & fabrication business, Green Shoe Garage.
We are a one-stop product design, engineering, and fabrication workshop; we take great pride in blending old school traditional craftsmanship with modern digital tools (3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, etc.) and the maker ethos. We build it all, from mechanical and structural components to electronics hardware (including circuit boards and embedded firmware) and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) software.
We pride ourselves in being able to support our clients throughout the entire development lifecycle, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, prototype fabrication, laboratory & real-world testing, and low-volume manufacturing.
